The Gallery’s History and Evolution

PPOW’s origins can be traced back to the first wave of the East Village art scene in the 1980s. Olsoff and Pilkington’s vision was to create a space that would champion contemporary art in all its forms, from painting and sculpture to installation and performance. Over the years, the gallery has evolved, moving from the East Village to SoHo in 1988 and then to its current home in Chelsea in 2002.
