ContactIn 2010, the gallery established the Black & White Project Space, a not-for-profit exhibition space dedicated to providing artists with the freedom to experiment with new ideas and mediums without commercial pressures[1][3]. This space encourages artists to cross over diverse art mediums and create site-specific installations as an extension of their representative work[1].
From 2015 to 2018, both the gallery and project space operated from a new brick-and-mortar space in Bushwick, Brooklyn[1]. Since the summer of 2020, the gallery has continued to experiment with different exhibition modules in both digital and physical spaces, devoting its resources to the development, production, and promotion of cutting-edge creative ideas via online presentations, pop-up exhibitions, and art fairs[1].
The gallery’s founder emphasizes the importance of cultivating promising artists in the initial and more advanced phases of their careers, supporting them in exploring contemporary themes and concepts through multiple mediums[1][3]. This commitment to nurturing emerging talent and providing a platform for experimentation has made Black & White Gallery a significant player in the contemporary art scene.
In addition to its own exhibitions, the gallery has also been involved in organizing juried exhibitions, such as the “Black & White” National Juried Exhibition hosted by arc gallery & studios in San Francisco[5]. This exhibition seeks works that limit the color palette to black, white, and/or the blending of the two, challenging artists to concentrate on elements other than color, such as composition, value, lighting, and form[5].
As the art world continues to evolve, Black & White Gallery remains dedicated to supporting artists, fostering creativity, and pushing the boundaries of contemporary art.
